Fourth-Year Study at Energy Institute, Bengaluru (EIB) [visit website]
In line with the Institute’s vision to provide students with enhanced academic exposure and stronger industry connect, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) is introducing a new academic framework from UG Admission Batch 2025 onwards.
Students admitted to the following branches in A.Y. 2025-26:

will complete their first three years of study at RGIPT Main Campus, Jais (Amethi), Uttar Pradesh.
After the completion of 6th semester, these students will pursue their final year of study at the Energy Institute, Bengaluru (EIB) a dedicated Centre of RGIPT located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to benefit from enhanced industry exposure and placement opportunities as the city has an excellent ecosystem for the adove domains.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programs for the academic year 2025–26 must apply online through the official admission portal of the Institute, as per the round-wise eligibility criteria outlined below.
Round 1: JEE (Advanced) 2025 Qualified Candidates Only
Eligibility
- Candidate must have qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2025.
- Must have secured ≥60% aggregate marks in Class XII* (≥55% for SC/ST/PwD categories).
Round 2: Candidates Eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2025 (But Not Qualified)
To be conducted only if seats remain vacant after Round 1Eligibility
- Candidate must have a valid JEE (Mains) 2025 rank and must have met the eligibility criteria to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2025.
- Must have secured ≥60% aggregate marks in Class XII* (≥55% for SC/ST/PwD categories).
- Candidates eligible for Round 1 may also participate in Round 2.
Preference Order
- First preference: JEE (Advanced) 2025 Rank
- Second preference: JEE (Mains) Ranks 2025.
*Subjects considered for aggregate in Class XII: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and one other best subject while calculating the percentage of Marks

- A candidate who is eligible for any of the admission rounds may apply. Their application will be considered in the respective round based on their eligibility and merit.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee admission.
- Allotment of seats is strictly based on merit and is subject to availability of seats in the respective admission round.

Reservation
Reservation policy as per the Government of India directive will be followed. In addition, following the GOI directive and to encourage technical education among the girls, few seats# will be reserved for female candidates on a supernumerary basis over the current strength. The Certificate for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD/EWS must be submitted in the specified format during time of admission.

General Information to All Round Applicants
- Candidates whose branch is upgraded to higher preferences will be informed via email.
- No Inter-Round Auto-Upgradation Permitted: This means candidates applying in later rounds (e.g., Round 2 or Round 3) will not be eligible to upgrade to or compete for seats already allotted or blocked in earlier rounds (e.g., Round 1), regardless of their rank or qualifications. Example for Clarity: If a candidate applies in Round 2 with a JEE (Advanced) rank of 10,000, they cannot be considered for upgradation or allocation of a seat that was allotted in Round 1 to another candidate with a rank of 15,000. The admission process strictly respects the chronological order of rounds.
- Use of Withdrawn or Forfeited Seats After Any Round: Seats that are withdrawn or forfeited after any round will be used only for: (i) Allotment to wait-listed candidates (if seats are available) will be done before the end of the respective round, strictly based on merit. (ii) Auto-upgradation within the same round (for candidates who opted in).

- In addition, all students will pay a mess advance of `20,000.00* per semester at the beginning of each semester, which will be adjusted towards actual bills at the end of each academic year.
- The mess charges applicable at EIB Bengaluru campus (for 4th year students) may be higher than those at RGIPT campus
- Students opting for minor specialization have to pay an additional fee of 10,000.00 for each semester.
*For the first semester, this amount will be deposited on arrival at the campus.
Application Process
Interested candidates should submit their application online before the stipulated deadline as mentioned in Table 2. It may be noted that candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir are exempted from entering Aadhar Number in the application form. However, during admission they have to produce any Government approved identity proof like Passport/Ration Card/Bank Passbook/Other valid government identity card. Candidates from other than these states must provide an Aadhaar Number. The applicant shall follow the Step by Step instruction given below to complete the application procedure.
Step-1 Procedure for Registration as a New Student
- Choose B Tech Program and click [Proceed for Registration].
- Now you are in the Registration page.
- Fill all the details carefully: Name of Applicant, Date of Birth, Category, Mobile Number and Email ID. After filling all the details click on [Register] button.
- Your Registration Number will display on your screen, note it down for future references. Along with an OTP and the same Registration Number will also be sent to the mobile number that you have entered. Fill that OTP in the given section and click on [Proceed] button.
- After clicking on Proceed button a Password will be generated and sent to your mobile number and email ID.
Step-2 Procedure to Login
- Enter your login credentials received through SMS and/or Email to login into the Online Admission Application System
- After Login you will be redirected to Instructions section. Read the instructions carefully before filling the form
- In case you forgot your password then click on Forgot Password button and do the necessary proceedings
Step-3 Procedure to Submit Admission Application Fee
- After successful Login you will be redirected to Instructions page. Click on Continue button after reading the instructions carefully
- You will be redirected to Fee Payment page. Pay the prescribed fees using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI. The stipulated application fee to be paid is given in the Clause 6.7 for reference
- Select your Payment Mode and click on Proceed to Pay Online button
- You will be redirected to Payment Gateway through which you will have to submit the fees
- After successful payment you will be redirected to Payment Details page where you can download the payment receipt by clicking on [Download Receipt] button
- Click on Proceed button to fill the remaining Application Form
Step-4 Procedure to Fill Personal Information
- After successful Payment applicant will be redirected to Personal Information page
- Select choice of preference of disciplines
- Fill your details like Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Caste Certificate Number, Nationality etc
- After filling all the details correctly click on Save & Continue button
- You will receive a Pop-up Message of successful submission of details. Click on OK button to proceed
- Fields marked with * are mandatory
Step-5 Procedure to Fill Address and Contact Details
- After successful submission of Personal Information applicant will be redirected to Address & Contact Details page
- Fill your details like Alternate Mobile Number, Local Address, Email ID of Father/Guardian etc
- Click on Check Box if your Permanent Address is same as Correspondence Address, else fill the details of Permanent Address
- After filling all the details correctly click on Save & Continue button
- You will receive a Pop-Up Message of successful submission of Address & Contact Details. Click on OK button to proceed further
Step-6 Procedure to Fill Academic Qualification Details
- After successful submission of Other Details applicant will be redirected to Academic Qualification Details Page
- Fill the details related to High School & Intermediate like Roll Number, Passing Year, Board, Name of College, Marks Obtained etc
- After filling and selecting all the details correctly click on Save & Continue button
- You will receive a Pop-Up Message of successful submission of details. Click on OK button to proceed further
Step-7 Procedure to Fill JEE (Advanced)/JEE (Mains) Details
- After successful submission of Academic Qualification Details applicant will be redirected to Other Qualification Page
- Fill your JEE(Advanced)/JEE (Mains) details
- After filling all the details correctly click on Save & Continue button
- You will receive a Pop-Up message of successful submission. Click on OK button to proceed
Step-8 Procedure to Fill Bank Details
- After successful submission of JEE Details applicant will be redirected to Bank Details Page
- Fill your details like Name of Account Holder,Name of Bank,Account Number, IFSC Code,PAN
- After filling all the details correctly click on Save & Continue button
- You will receive a Pop-Up Message of successful submission of details. Click on OK button to proceed further
Step-9 Procedure to Upload Documents
- After successful submission of Bank Details applicant will be redirected to Upload Documents page
- Upload the photograph and signature of applicant’s in JPG/JPEG format whose file size should not exceed 100 KB each
- Click on Save & Continue button
Step-10 Preview and Final Submission of Application
- After successfully uploading the documents the applicant will be redirected to the Review Application Page.
- In case you wish to make any change in the form you can click on Edit button of that particular form and make required changes.
- After final review of the application, click on Checkbox of declaration and then click on Submit button.
- You will receive a Pop-Up message regarding Final Submission of Form. Click on No, Cancel It! button in case you are not sure for final submission of form else click on Yes, I Am Sure! button.
- Applicant can download the submitted application by clicking on Download Application Form button and can download the Payment Receipt by clicking on Download Receipt button which will appear after final submission of application.
Note: No changes will be allowed after submission of form; hence applicants are advised to make required changes, if any, while reviewing the application.
Step-11 Selection and Admission Offer
- A selection list of the shortlisted candidates will be prepared and published on the Institute Website in the Admission Portal
- The candidates will be required to pay the fee for consideration of admission
- The selected list of candidates for subsequent rounds shall be published based on the availability of seats

Refund Policy for BTech Admissions 2025
The refund policy for candidates allotted seats in the 1st round is outlined below. Candidates must strictly adhere to the specified withdrawal deadlines and procedures to be eligible for refunds. The Institute will process refunds only upon receipt and approval of a valid withdrawal request submitted within the stipulated timeframe. No refund will be considered beyond the deadlines mentioned. Different cases are considered separately depending on whether the candidate has paid only the seat blocking amount or the full fees, and whether the withdrawal is before or after the date of registration. Please read the details carefully to avoid any confusion or loss of fees.

The refund policy for candidates allotted seats in the 2nd round follows the same strict guidelines as Round 1. It is imperative that candidates comply with all deadlines and submit withdrawal requests timely through the prescribed channels. Refunds will be processed as per the case definitions listed below, considering the amount paid and the timing of withdrawal relative to physical registration. The Institute disclaims any responsibility for delays or failures to meet deadlines on the candidate’s part and will not grant exceptions or concessions. Candidates are advised to review the refund rules carefully to safeguard their interests.
