Electric vehicles are modes of transportation that use alternative energy sources in place of conventional fuels including gasoline and diesel. An electric motor replaces the internal combustion engine in all-electric cars, commonly known as battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Batteries, solar panels, or fuel cells can be integrated into EVs to drive an electric motor. Electric vehicles include electric rickshaws, electric cars, electric bikes, and more. Most trains, including metros are already powered by electricity globally.
