Professor A S K Sinha, Director Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, has been bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Doaba Regional Centre of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) on December 11, 2021. The award ceremony which was held in RGIPT campus, was graced by the auspicious presence of Professor M K Jha, President IIChE, Dr Uttiya Bhattacharyya, Executive Director and State Head, Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Dr Avijit Ghosh, Honorary Secretary, IIChE was also present during the ceremony.

The Award was presented to Professor Sinha in recognisation of his outstanding contributions in the science and practice of diversified areas of Industrial Catalysis especially Photo-catalysis for Water Splitting and Pollution Control; Catalysis for Conversion of Methanol to Hydrocarbons; Heterogeneous Process for Biodiesel Production; Catalytic Cracking of Methane; and Catalytic Materials for the Production, Storage and Uses of Hydrogen.
