Workshop on Troubleshooting Process Operations and Root Cause Analysis

Department of Management Studies, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) conducted a Management Development Workshop on Troubleshooting Process Operations and Root Cause Analysis at Noida from 11th to 13th December, 2019.

There were 33 participants from Oil Refineries who participated in the above workshop which was designed to develop skills and evaluate troubleshooting processes in Refinery Operations. The Workshop was convened under the guidance of Shri M.B. Lal, Ex-Chairman, HPCL and Member, RGIPT BoG. Eminent Industry Experts having over 3 decades of experience in refinery operations gave insights to the participants by discussing more than 30 case studies involving Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis on units and equipment like CDU / FCC/ Catalytic Cracker, Over head Drum System, condensers , Re-boilers etc. Videos on incidences in Refinery to bring awareness in changes if any required at workplace.

A session on artificial intelligence, Hydro treatment operations and pinch technology for energy integration were delivered to the participants by Senior professors which was found very useful by them.

Director, RGIPT during his valedictory address emphasized that learnings from the programs to be shared with your colleagues and an environment of openness for sharing will be beneficial not only for the employees but also for the Refinery. He congratulated the faculty for the excellent knowledge sharing and skills to the participants narrating their own experiences while working in the refinery.
