Chemical Engineering (Major in Petrochemicals and Polymers Engineering)

Significance of Course

Following the recent trends of transition of many public and private industries towards Petroleum and Petrochemical products and meeting their skill-requirements, the department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering has started a B. Tech. degree program in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Petrochemicals and Polymers Engineering. This program combines fundamental chemical engineering principles with specialized knowledge in petrochemicals and polymers. This specialization opens diverse career paths, fosters innovation, and plays a crucial role in addressing pressing challenges of the sector.

The program offers a comprehensive education at par with international standard in core chemical engineering principles, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, reaction engineering and process design etc. This is complemented by specialized courses in petrochemical processes, polymer chemistry, and polymer processing techniques, providing a well-rounded and in-depth knowledge essential for tackling complex engineering challenges of the industries.
