Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Department offers degrees in four majors: Microelectronics, Digital techniques & Instrumentation, Communication systems; and Electric Vehicle (E-Vehicle). The vision of the department is to offer educational and professional ethics of global standards through innovative methods of teaching and learning with practical orientation. The department aims to foster a culture of innovation and research in the field of Electrical and Electronics engineering by promoting the establishment of labs, centers of excellence, and enable students to develop skills for solving complex contemporary technological problems and providing a framework for promoting collaborative and multidisciplinary research activities. It aims to produce quality professionals in this field to compete globally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging technologies by forging strong industry-institute interaction. The teaching and pedagogical regime adopted by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering encourages innovations, smart learning, and a student-centric learning environment. Extensive focus is laid on hands-on workshops, practical /immersion modules, in line with the course contents for students’ integration with industry experts. The courses are meticulously designed and planned to cater to individual industry demands.

The subjects offered in the curriculum focus on industrial applications and fundamental concepts. The department also offers Doctoral programs in emerging areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Additionally, advanced courses on Embedded systems, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things are also incorporated into the syllabus to make students industry ready. The department has experienced and well-qualified faculties.

From the year 2022, considering the industry requirements and to enhance employability level, a new major in E-Vehicle has been introduced. This major focuses on combining the core Electrical Engineering subjects along with advanced interdisciplinary subjects covering all the aspects of E-Vehicle design such as E-Vehicle architecture, Vehicle dynamics, Component sizing of the power electronics converters, Batteries & battery management systems for E-Vehicles, Battery charging techniques, Advanced Electric Motors & Their Controls, Embedded system for E-Vehicle.

The major areas of faculty expertise in the department include Signal Processing, Communication, Antenna, Microwave, Microelectronics, MEMS, Power electronics, Renewable Energy, Electrical drives, E-Vehicle, Sensor and actuators, Machines, Electrical motors, and Opto-electronic devices. The Department actively involves and encourages interdisciplinary research for industry-oriented applications.
