With the growing demand for safety professionals in various sectors like Petroleum, Construction, manufacturing, aerospace, hospitals, Banking; Assam energy Institute, a centre of RGIPT , have successfully established the department of Fire and Safety Engineering at diploma level . This unique curriculum aims to develop budding engineer to competent Fire and Safety professionals with extensive focus on proactive approach towards risk relating to fire, its control, prevention and emergency preparedness during any fire emergency. The Branch comprises of faculties with national, international as well as industrial experience.

Students have career prospects in the industries such as Fire Service of government and public sector, Business Corporations, educational institutions, consultancies and other government organizations; Fire Safety department in large multinational companies, Fire Brigades, Petroleum refineries, petrochemicals, fertilizers, textiles, LPG and LNG handling, chemicals; Fire departments of various organizations.
