    Dr Bhagirath Sahu

    Assistant Professor
    Electrical and Electronics Engineering

    Dr Bhagirath Sahu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Energy Institute Bengaluru (EIB), a center of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Amethi. Born in 1987 in the district of Panna, Madhya Pradesh, India, Dr Bhagirath Sahu exhibited a passion for learning from a young age. He completed his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Distt Panna, where he laid the foundation for his academic journey.

    Driven by a fascination with electronics and communication, Dr Sahu pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from OIST Bhopal, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya. Subsequently, he continued his academic pursuit in Microwave Engineering, obtaining his M Tech and PhD degrees from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi, India, in 2013 and 2018, respectively.

    His PhD thesis titled "Studies on Microstrip Filters Integrated with Antennas for Wireless Applications" showcased Dr Sahu's dedication and contribution to the field. Under the guidance of Professor S P Singh and Professor M K Meshram, esteemed faculty members at IIT (BHU), Varanasi, his research explored cutting-edge applications in Microwave Engineering.

    Joining as an Assistant Professor at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, in June 2018, Dr Bhagirath Sahu excelled in teaching, mentoring, and fostering a spirit of inquiry among students. His research interests span diverse areas, including the design of microwave filters using microstrip and SIW technology, microwave antennas, dielectric antennas, filtering antennas, and microwave devices.

    Beyond academics, Dr Sahu has been an avid supporter of academic organizations, founding the IEEE MTT-S Student Branch Chapter at IIT (BHU) Varanasi and serving as chairperson of IEEE MTT-S SBC during 2017-18. He is a valued member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) USA, a global association dedicated to technological advancement and innovation.

    Dr Bhagirath Sahu's journey is a testament to academic brilliance, unwavering dedication, and a passion for innovation. As an Assistant Professor at Energy Institute Bengaluru (EIB), his contributions continue to inspire aspiring engineers and researchers in India and beyond. With his relentless pursuit of knowledge and commitment to excellence, Dr Sahu stands as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
