Essential Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have passed the HSLC, or 10th board exam, or, any equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. The applicant must have passed both of these subjects. Additionally, s/he must also have passed individually in both theory and practical examinations. Furthermore, s/he should fulfil the criteria regarding Mathematics and Science as stated below:

    • CIPET Admission Test (CAT) 2025
    • HSLC or 10th Board or Equivalent Examination
  2. Candidates from other North-Eastern States, excluding Assam, must have appeared in at least one of the following:
    • AEIS Admission Test (AAT) 2025
    • CIPET Admission Test (CAT) 2025
    • Polytechnic Entrance Tests (PETs) conducted by any states in the year 2025
    • HSLC or 10th Board or Equivalent Examination
  3. Candidates from the rest of India, excluding all North-Eastern States, must have appeared in at least one of the following:

Minimum Qualifying Score for Admission Consideration through Admision Tests

To be considered for admission, candidates must secure a minimum score as follows in AAT or CAT or state-level PETs in the year 2025:

If two applicants obtain the same scores in AAT 2025 or CAT 2025 or state-level PETs 2025 entrance tests, the following selection criteria will be applied in order of priority:

  1. Overall marks in the HSLC, 10th board exam or equivalent
  2. Total marks in Mathematics and Science in the 10th board exam or equivalent
  3. Marks in Mathematics in the 10th board exam or equivalent
  4. Marks in Science in the 10th board exam or equivalent
  5. Age (preference will be given to the younger applicant)

AEIS Admission Test (AAT) 2025

AAT 2025 Exam Centres

The AEIS Admission Test (AAT) 2025 will be conducted across multiple centers in Assam to facilitate accessibility for candidates. The designated examination centers are located in the following cities:

Dibrugarh, Assam Jorhat, Assam Guwahati, Assam
Silchar, Assam Bongaigaon, Assam Dimapur, Nagaland
Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh Shillong, Meghalaya Agartala, Tripura

Candidates are advised to select their preferred examination center during the application process. The final allotment of centers will be based on availability and the number of applicants. Detailed information regarding the exact venues, reporting times, and other pertinent instructions will be provided in the official admit card issued prior to the examination date. The number of cities where AAT 2025 will be conducted may be increased/decreased based on the number of applications received. Relevant information will be updated well in advance.

AAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The AAT 2025 will consist of a total of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. All questions will have only one correct option. The total marks for the examination will be 100. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted as part of the negative marking scheme, while no marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. The total duration of the examination will be 3 hours. The question paper pattern is tabulated below:

Syllabus for AAT 2025

  • For Part I (Mental Ability Test), MCQs will be based on the following topics:

NOTE: In case of vacant seats, a second round will be conducted based on scores obtained in CAT 2025 or any state-level PETs 2025. Further details regarding the second round will be announced in due course.


Additional information
  • Admission portal will remain open for subsequent round of admission. If seats remain vacant after first round, then further rounds of admission will be conducted.
  • The entire admission process is online. There is provision of dynamic upgradation of branch choices as per opted during filling the online registration form. Based on the vacant seats, preferences will be upgraded.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit their application through online mode on/before the last date of form submission above mentioned important dates. It may be noted that the candidates must be either resident of any of the North-Eastern States (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura) or, son/daughter of an employee of Central Government/ PSU posted in Assam at the time of application or, son/daughter of a person residing in Assam for minimum of Two Years at the time of application. The mentioned candidates are eligible to apply for AEI Admission Test (2025).

While applying, the candidates have to upload the supporting document for their candidacy such as Voter ID/Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Passport/Ration Card/Bank Passbook/Other valid Government Identity Card.

The applicant should follow the instructions given below for filling the online application form:

Step-1 Procedure for Registration as a New Student

  1. Choose IDD/Diploma Program and click [Proceed for Registration]
  2. Now you are in Registration page
  3. Fill all the details carefully Name of Applicant, Date of Birth, Category, Mobile Number and Email ID.
  4. Click “I’m not a robot” reCAPTCHA. After filling all the details click on [Submit] button
  5. OTP will be sent to the mobile number. Enter OTP and click on [OK]. Your Application ID and password will display on your screen, note it down for future references. Click on [OK] button.

Note: For registration, the applicants need a verified Email ID and mobile number. In case they do not have an Email ID, it must be created before registration. The mobile number must remain activated and accessible during and after the application process. A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the mobile number for verification during the sign-up/registration process. The mobile number will also be used to contact the applicant for any discrepancies regarding their application.

Step-2 Fees Payment

  1. Visit the SBI collect page [Application Fee]
  2. Chose "AEI IDD Registration Fees" from Payment Categoty dropdown
  3. A form will appear, you need fill up the details and insert the registration no from the above registration step into the designated field.
  4. After the payment you will receive a payment receipt and payment reference number, these details will be required during the form fillup process.

  • UR/OBC/EWS:
    Rs. 200 + 36 (GST) + Bank Charges
  • PwD/SC/ST/Girls:
    Rs. 100 + 18 (GST) + Bank Charges

Step-3 Login (Already registered)

  1. Visit the homepage and click on [Login]
  2. Enter your login credentials Application No. and Password, then click on to [Login] into the Online Admission Application Form.
  3. In case the applicant has forgotten the password, there is an option called “Forgot Password?”, which can be used to retrieve the password via an OTP sent to the registered mobile number.

Step-4 Application form

i. Personal Information

  1. In this section, the applicant has to enter all the details asked in their respective blocks.
  2. After filling in all the mandatory fields (*), the applicant shall click on the “Next” button to go to the next step.
  3. The payment reference number from the SBI Collect portal need to be put in the designated field.

ii Upload Documents

  1. In this section, the applicant has to upload all the required documents/files.
  2. The uploaded documents/files must be in .jpg, .jpeg or .png formats only. Any other formats shall not be accepted.
  3. The size of the files uploaded must not exceed 200 KB. Any files exceeding the size of 200 KB cannot be uploaded.
  4. If the size of the image is large, then it can be compressed by any Image Compressor software or app.
  5. The required file(s) can be selected by clicking on the “+” button. After selection, the file shall be automatically uploaded. The uploaded file can be previewed or deleted. The ‘preview’, ‘delete’ and any other options if they are available, can be accessed by hovering the mouse pointer over the uploaded image.
  6. After uploading all the required files, the applicant shall click on the “Save & Continue” button to go to the next step.

Documents to be uploaded

  • Documentary Proof of Age (HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate)
  • Recent Passport Size Photograph
  • Signature of the applicant in white paper with black ink
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Class 10th or its equivalent examination Mark Sheet
  • Proof of Residence in respective state
  • Transfer/Joining Letter of Parent (for the son/daughter of an employee of Central Government/ PSU posted in North-East states)
  • Affidavit/Experience Letter of Parent/Rent Agreement/Voter ID/Shop License (for the candidates whose parents are residing in Assam/Other North-Eastern States from minimum of TWO Years)
  • Income Certificate for EWS (if applicable)
  • Payment Transaction receipt from SBI Collect

iii AEI Sivsagar Admission Test (AAT) Center & Other Examination Test Details

  1. Details regarding the AEI Sivsagar Admission Test (AAT 2025) which will be notified to the candidates.
  2. In this section, the applicant has to select his/her prefered center for the examination, along with the details of CIPET Admission Test (CAT) and State-level Polytechnic Admission Tests.

iv Branch Preferences

  1. In this section, the applicant has to choose their branches and set them in an order according to the preference. Order of your preference cannot be changed after the submission of the form.
  2. If the applicant has any query regarding the preference of branches, they can reach out to the Admission Committee Members, Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar via Email or telephone during office hours (09:00 AM - 06:00 PM). The contact details for any such correspondence are listed in the official website. This can be accessed by clicking on the “Need Help?” button on the top right corner.
  3. After entering the details of the marks, the applicant has to fill in the table concerning details of education. All the mandatory fields (*) must be filled. Any field that is not applicable to the applicant must be left blank.
  4. After filling in all the mandatory fields (*), the applicant has to click on the “Next” button to go to the next section. The applicants are advised to double check and verify all the details entered to avoid any error or discrepancy.

v Preview and Final Submission of Application

  1. In this section, the complete application form with the details entered will be displayed.
  2. In case of any error in the details entered, the applicant may go back to the previous section to rectify them.
  3. The applicant must double-check and ensure that all the details entered are correct to the best of their knowledge. After verifying each field, he/she has to agree to our Terms and Conditions by clicking on the checkbox at the bottom of the page. After this, click the “Final Submit” button to complete submission of the application.
  4. Once the applicant completes the submission of the application by clicking on “Submit Now”, they will not be able to make any further changes, modifications or alterations to their form. Hence, they are advised to carefully enter and check each and every detail of the application form before final submission.

vi Final Print of the Application

  1. The final application form will be generated on the screen of the applicant’s device.
  2. This form can be printed by clicking on the Print button.
  3. The applicant must not use keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+P) for printing this form. The form should be printed by clicking on the custom Print button.
  4. The applicants are advised to keep a printout of their form for any future reference.

Note: If the applicants encounter any difficulties at any stage of the application process, they may contact the admission committee members during office hours (09:00AM - 06:00 PM).

Admission Procedure

Verification by Institute Authority

All filled application forms will be verified by the institute authority. The verification status of the applicants will be intimated via SMS on their registered mobile number. Applicants are advice to regularly check their phone/inbox of own email during the time of verification.

The submitted application forms shall be marked as the following:

  1. Verified: If all the data entered and the documents attached are found to be satisfactory and the applicant is eligible for next stages of admission process.
  2. Defective: If any of the data entered or/and the documents attached are found to be unsatisfactory or, may require rectification. The applicant may login again to the admission portal and make the changes/corrections in the fields as required.
  3. Rejected: If the application form has been rejected and the application shall not be entertained for admission in the later stages.
Merit List Generation

After the verification of all the applications, the institute authorities will prepare and publish the Merit List for admission. The Merit List will be available on the official website of Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar on the mentioned date. The applicants whose names do not appear in the first Merit List may wait for subsequent Merit Lists. But the subsequent Merit Lists are subject to the availability of seats, after the applicants of the First Merit List have taken their provisional admission.


Admission Request & Admission Fees Payment

After publishing the merit list, the institute authority will send admission requests through the admission portal to the selected candidates.

  1. Admission requests will be received by the applicants at their Admission Portal after login.
  2. After login to the admission portal, the applicant has to press the “Go to Admission Panel” button to check their incoming request.
  3. Once the applicant receives the request, they will have two options: a) Accept: If the applicant accepts the admission request, they have to click this option. The amount of payment required for the admission will be shown in the portal. The candidates will have to make the payment of the same amount as shown in the admission portal to the bank account mentioned in the portal. After sending the amount, the candidate needs to upload the payment receipt to the portal. b) Reject: If the applicant does not accept the admission request, they have to click this option. The applicant will not be considered for admission further.
  4. If an applicant has failed to accept or reject the request within the notified period, it will be deemed as a rejection and they may not be considered for further admission procedure.
  5. After the acceptance of the request, the candidate will be able to make the payment of Admission fees. The Payment needs to be done in the SBI Collect Portal under "AEI IDD Admission Fees". After this applicant has to fill the details of admission fee payment and upload the “Payment Receipt” in the portal.

Provisional Admission

After the acceptance of the admission request and the payment of admission fee, the institute authority will allot an enrolment number of the institution to the candidate.

This will be immediately notified to the applicant through SMS on their register mobile number. Now, the applicant can login again to the admission portal and download a “Provisional Admission Slip” and “Payment Receipt” of the institute along with the payment receipt.
