APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), an ‘Institution of National Importance’, is established through an Act of Parliament in year 2007 under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) is a domain specific Institute in Petroleum and Energy sector. The Institute is located at Jais, District- Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, India and having two centres namely- Assam Energy Institute (AEI), Sivasagar and Energy Institute, Bengaluru (EIB). The prime objective of the Institute is to provide excellent education, training, and research to roll out efficient human resources, and to meet the growing requirements of the Petroleum and Energy industry.

RGIPT invites applications for appointment to the post of Director from the candidates having proven administration, teaching, and research background with leadership qualities.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants should fulfil the following criteria:

1. PhD along with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (Bachelors/ Masters) in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Geology with an outstanding academic record throughout.
2. A minimum of 10-years’ experience as a Professor in a reputed educational institute and should have guided PhD students.
3. He/she is expected to have a minimum of 5-years’ administrative experience and leadership qualities to head an Institute of National Importance.
4. The applicant should preferably be less than 60 years of age as on the last date of receipt of the application.

Selection Process

The Director will be appointed after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority based on the recommendations made by the Search Committee which will consider applications received in response to this advertisement.

The post carries a fixed pay of Rs. 2,25,000/- per month in Pay Level- 17 as per 7th CPC with applicable allowances. The appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of five years or till he/she superannuates, whichever is earlier, as per usual terms and conditions. The retirement age will be 70 years.
