Bangalore Center (Energy Institute, Bangalore)


Bangalore Center of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology named as, Energy Institute, Bangalore, is proposed in  the city of Bengaluru, which is envisioned to be a distinguished Energy Research Institute offering world-class research, and education.

The purpose of this Energy Institute would be to drive economic growth through energy research and development, energy innovation and entrepreneurship. The Institute would also conduct cutting-edge industrial, technological, and basic research; offer education to students; and training to industry professionals in the field of energy. The institute is also aiming to create Energy Experience Centre, Incubation Cell/Entrepreneurship-Cell, Office of Licensing and Commercialization to facilitate the immersive experience of energy technologies.

For setting up of the Institute, a land of 150 acres has been allotted to by the Government of Karnataka in Kambalipura, Hosakote Taluk. While construction of this Center in Kambalipura land would require a few years, academic session has already been commenced from the year 2018-19 from a temporary campus of Visvewaraya Technological University (VTU) Campus . To start with, three M Tech Programmes are designed in the fields of Renewable Energy, Power and Energy Systems Engineering and Energy Science and Technology.
